Men's Ministry

Coastal's men's ministry exists to develop authentic followers of Jesus Christ. We strive to accomplish that through gospel centered prayer, studying His word, small groups and by serving in a ministry and mission. In addition, Coastal offers seminars and outings for men throughout the year. Contact Chuck Cooper for more info.

Women's Ministry

Coastal's women's ministry exists to develop authentic followers of Jesus Christ. Coastal Kids Ministry (Grades 0-5)

*ALL volunteers over the age of 18 in the Children’s Ministry must have a background check. This is for the protection of our children.

*Youth from 6th – 8th grades may help with children who are at least 4 years old.

*Youth from 9th – 12th grades may serve in any area of Coastal Kids.

Prayer Leader

This team takes turns leading the children’s ministry prayer time before the services. Team members arrive 40 minutes before the service begins. This person is asked to make a one-year commitment.

Craft Guru Team

This team looks at the lesson and creates a craft for the children to do on Sunday mornings. They also gather the needed supplies. This team serves, as needed, during the week. They also serve on Sunday mornings helping the children with the crafts. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements. This team is asked to make a one-year commitment.

Puppet Team

This team engages with the children and brings the Bible lesson to life through puppets. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements. 

Creative Set Design Team

This team creates backdrops and sets the environment to bring the Bible to life for the Children’s Ministry! This team serves during the week, as needed, preparing the room for Sunday.

Check-In Team

This team greets families and children as the children are checked-in. They are the ‘First Impressions’ team for the children’s ministry. This team uses the computer system to mark attendance, print nametags and checks the security tags as the children are picked up. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements. Team members are asked to serve for at least 6 months and to be scheduled for two services a month.

Nursery Team

This team provides a loving and welcoming environment for children ages birth – 1 year old. Positive early experiences at church help children grow to experience God’s love from an early age. This team rocks babies, changes diapers and cleans toys. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Toddler Teachers

This team creates a warm and loving environment to teach children, ages 2 and 3, God’s Word. The lesson and all supplies are provided. This team prepares the lesson in advance. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Toddler Assistants

This team interacts with the children, ages 2 and 3. They set up the snack, take the children to the bathroom and anticipate the needs of the teacher. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Preschool Teachers

This team develops relationships with the children, ages 4 – Kindergarten, through a variety of activities such as story time, crafts and songs. The lesson and all supplies are provided. This team prepares the lesson in advance. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Preschool Assistants

This team shows God’s love by giving time and attention to children, ages 4 – Kindergarten, and helping the teacher with the needs of the class. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Elementary Team Teachers

This team works with children in 1st – 5th grade and interacts with the children during the opening activity. They teach the lesson components of their choice such as the ice breaker, object lesson, memory verse or review. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Elementary Team Assistants

This team works with children in 1st – 5th grade, set-up and clean-up activities, help with crowd control and love on the children. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Music Team

This team kicks off the service for preschool – 5th grade with high energy and creative songs through instruments, videos, or live music. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

Special Needs Team

This team shows parents and children that they are loved by God just as they are. This team works one-on-one with children with special needs in the various activities within the class. They also help with the overall flow of the classroom. Team members arrive 30 minutes before the service begins for a time of prayer and announcements.

NOW! Student Ministry (Grades 6-12)

Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers are key in working with the student ministry as they consistently create meaningful relationships with the students. This is a weekly commitment on Wednesday nights. Adults help check-in students, collect money for events and give students information. They are a part of a Share Group (small group) and actively engage with students in large group.

Tech Team

This team is comprised of adults and students. On Wednesday nights they run the lighting and  presentation software.

Instrumentalists and Singers

This team is comprised of students and adults. They lead worship through song on Wednesday nights and at special events.

Co-Ed Middle School Bible Study Teachers

This group is comprised of adults who are eager to teach students the Word of God. Middle School Bible Study meets on Tuesday evenings. 

Special Events Team

This group is comprised of adults who will chaperone, drive, help with service projects, help with one-day events and attend summer camp. 

Administrator

The administrator will take information from Wilson Bever and will create a monthly or bi-monthly newsletter that will be distributed to students and their parents. 

Communications Team

This team communicates with the church administrative assistant information for the weekly bulletin. They help with marketing upcoming events and creates graphics.

Tear Down and Set Up Team

This team is typically comprised of students who help two days a week to set up for Wednesday night and then reset prior to the Sunday service. 

Event Planner

The Event Planner works closely with the Administrator to remind parents and students of upcoming events and payments. They will also work out the details surrounding planned events.

 Music, Technical, & Creative Arts Ministry

Instrumentalists and Singers

Instrumentalists and singers are an integral part of the service as they lead the congregation in worship through song. The schedule is posted 3-4 months in advance and is flexible. Team members will be provided with a packet explaining the philosophy and function of the ministry. To be a part of this team, an interview and audition is required. Interviews and auditions are conducted on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. 

Live Sound

This team runs the front of house sound during services. Team members typically serve one Sunday a month and they attend music practice on the Tuesday prior to the Sunday they are scheduled. Music practice is on Tuesday night at 6:15pm. 

Audio Recording and Production Team

This team is responsible for and ensures the quality of the audio recordings from our Sunday morning services. This team records all the music and all of the sermons. This team also makes the CDs for each service and makes sure that all supplies are available for reproduction. 

Media Team

This team runs the media for Sunday morning services and occasionally other events. On Sunday mornings the team arrives 1 hour before the services begin and usually serves one Sunday a month.

Filming & Editing Team

Those interested in this ministry will be trained on how to film, edit, and post the sermons online. This team serves on Sundays and also helps with special events.

Creative Set Design

This team looks at the upcoming sermons and develops ways to creatively communicate them by making the atmosphere warm and inviting through the set design. Team members are handy, good at construction, artsy, have interior design skills or have graphic design skills.

Graphic Design

This team creates the sermon series graphics and also advertisement graphics for various ministries and events at Coastal Community Church and puts the graphics in variable formats to properly be displayed on screens, the website, social media, etc.

Coffee Counter Team

This team helps Coastal’s congregation wake up and get moving! This team makes the coffee on Sunday mornings and keeps the coffee counter clean and neat. The schedule is flexible with team members usually serving once a month. Team members arrive at the coffee counter 45 minutes before the service and stay 30 minutes after the service. If serving at the last service, team members stay until everything is clean.

Parking Team

This team truly is the first impression when coming to Coastal. This team is comprised of smiling faces to direct cars in the parking lot, both incoming and outgoing. This team arrives 30 minutes before the service begins and stays 20 minutes after the service is over, usually serving once a month.

Guest Services Counter Team

This team helps to answer questions, give directions, and provide general information to members and guests alike. They usually serve once a month. Team members arrive at the Connect Center 30 minutes before the service begins and stay until the next team member comes or, if at the last service, until the lobby clears out.

Guest Services Team

This team recognizes first time guests, guides them to important areas such as the bathrooms and connect center, and provides them with general information about the church. If the guests have children, a team member will walk them to the children’s check-in and help them get their children registered. Since you may be entering the children’s area, a background check will be required.

Greeter/Ushers

This team greets and welcomes those coming in to the services on Sunday. They also hand out bulletins, take up the offering, refill the chair backs, straighten the chairs in neat rows and open the doors for the members and guests as they leave. They arrive 45 minutes before the service and stay 30 minutes after the service.

Small Groups Ministry

Small Group Hosts

A Small Group Host opens their home to a small group.

Small Group Leaders

This team leads small groups in  biblical and topical discussion. Team members need to be spiritually growing with Jesus and relationally warm. To be a part of this team, church membership is required.

College Ministry

This team ministers to the college students from various campuses that attend Coastal. This team does various events throughout the year and there are multiple ministry opportunities available. To be a part of this ministry, contact Wilson Bever at .

Prayer Team

Service Prayer Team

This team attends and prays for various events throughout the year. They also pray with members and guests for individual prayer needs after the service and stay until the prayer needs are met. Church membership is a requirement.

Team Member

This team prays at various events throughout the year. The weekly opportunities are:

  • During the 11:15 service to pray for the services.
  • Thursdays at 10am in Coastal’s auditorium.
  • Saturdays at 8pm in the conference room.

Equipping Team

We Are Coastal

This team assists the staff with the logistics of the “We Are Coastal” class. Team Members will help with set up/tear down, preparing materials, and serving refreshments. This team also follows up with attendees to ensure that they make a smooth transition to the next step of discipleship. A one-year commitment is requested.

Field Communications

Communication of the discipleship process is essential as more and more people are coming to Coastal. This team helps with communication by developing campaigns, slides, emails and updating social media. A one-year commitment is requested..

Information Technology Team

There are many “technical” needs around Coastal. This team helps with troubleshooting computer problems, assisting members and guests with using the church database, and developing IT systems as needed. Team members with programming experience will help with Internet integration.   A one-year commitment is requested.

Church Office

There are many clerical opportunities within the church office that need to be done including answering phones during staff meetings, filing, copying, assembling books and other materials. 

Data Entry Team

This team operates from home There is data to enter into the church database. Training will be provided for team members.

Landscaping Team

This team helps seasonally with outdoor projects on the grounds of Coastal.

Cleaning Team

This team helps keep the church clean and beautiful on the inside. Team members are asked to serve once a month.

Hospitality Team

This team handles room set up and sets out refreshments for various special events throughout the year.
